A review of the epidemiological and microbiological data supporting the need for an improvement in hygiene awareness and hygiene practices in the home. This document was prepared as a special project by the IFH. The first draft of the document was prepared by Professor Bloomfield. The IFH Scientific Advisory Board comprising R Beumer, SF Bloomfield, M Exner G Fara, and EA Scott met in London in March 1997 to review, discuss and develop the review, and agree on final content.
