Use of dilute sodium hypochlorite spray and home cleaning to reduce indoor allergen levels and improve asthma health parameters.

The hypothesis of this study is that low-concentration hypochlorite-based cleaning practices reduce indoor allergen exposure and allergy and asthma symptoms; and, sodium hypochlorite-based sprays do not degrade pulmonary function in asthmatic individuals. This work shows the impact of cleaning on asthmatic trigger reduction in indoor environments. It suggests an association between indoor allergen reduction and improved symptom scores.
