The transmission of MRSA from two persistent MRSA-carrier nurses to their household contacts was examined. Two of the nurses’ children were found to be MRSA-positive and one a transient MRSA carrier, leading to the conclusion that healthcare workers may become a source of MRSA infection for their own families as well as for patients.
