Indoor mold, toxigenic fungi and Stachybotrys chartarum: infectious disease perspective.

This review discusses indoor environmental mould exposure, with an emphasis on Stachybotrys and its toxins. It also discusses specific organ toxicity, focusing on illnesses allegedly caused by indoor mould. From their review of the available literature, the authors conclude they did not find any supportive evidence linking the presence of Stachybotrys in the environment with health concerns elaborated in the scientific and lay press.
