Effectiveness of a training program in reducing infections in toddlers attending day care centers.

The effectiveness of a hygiene program in reducing bacterial contamination in the day-care centre environment and the incidence of respiratory and diarrhoeal diseases was assessed. Results indicate that both an intervention program and monitoring alone play a role in reducing infections in children attending day care centres. Epidemiology 1999;10:219-227.
