Computer keyboards and faucet handles as reservoirs of nosocomial pathogens in the intensive care unit.
MRSA was most common pathogen identified from samples collected in this sutdy Computer keyboards were uniformly contaminated throughout the ICU regardless of their proximity to patients or geographic location. As a result of the findings, taps were replaced with non-contact controlled sinks,keyboard covers introduced and the need for handwashing after all environmental and patient contact was reinforced.
