This manual provides guidance on developing a programme for more effective investment in promotion of behavioural change for safer hygiene practices, and to help make hygiene promotion programmes more effective. Much of the material is based on the 1999 UNICEF Handbook “Towards better programming: a manual for hygiene promotion”, but the text has been revised based on experience and feedback from users of the UNICEF manual
