Guidelines for the Prevention and Treatment of Opportunistic Infections in HIV-Infected Adults and Adolescents
These Recommendations have been produced by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Institutes of Health, and the HIV Medicine Association of the Infectious Diseases Society of America. Recommendations in this report address all aspects of the management of opportubistic infections in HIV/AIDS patients including preventing exposure to opportunistic pathogens.
These guidelines are intended for clinicians, other health care providers, HIV-infected patients, and policy makers in the United States; guidelines pertinent to other regions of the world, especially resource-limited countries, may differ with respect to the spectrum of OIs of interest and diagnostic and therapeutic capacities.
