In 2002, IFH held its second international conference in Delhi, India. Entitled “Preventing infectious disease in the domestic setting: a responsibility for all”, the conference focused on the importance of developing programmes in which education in good hygiene practice is integrated with the provision of clean water, food, sanitation etc. The conference included sessions on hygiene practice, handwashing, water, sanitation and food hygiene. The proceedings of this conference were subsequently published in the International Journal of Environmental Health Research 2003; 13 (suppl 1).
